You don’t need to spend a fortune for a good knife this is my 2nd Opinel knife the #8 has just the right size for every day cutting task that handles perfect every time.
Can look a bit odd in a guy's front pocket lol. But classy, classic, nice materials. I have a 6, 8 and 8slim. My 8 olive & SS is my fave, some easy beginner mods! Best wishes Opinel Co.
Oh... I have an 8 NIB as a future gift!
Does this knife have a locking mechanism?
The Opinel # 8 knife does have a locking mechanism built into the collar of the knife.
Does it lock
All Opinel folding knives size 6 and larger have a twist collar that will lock the knife open or closed.
How can I order a new opinel # 7 knife from company?
You can purchase a NO.7 Opinel from either of the No.7 product pages. The stainless is available at https://www.appalachianoutfitters.mom/products/opinel-no-7-stainless-folding-knife-000693 and the carbon steel is available at https://www.appalachianoutfitters.mom/products/opinel-no-7-carbon-steel-folding-knife-113070
How do you open this knife please. We twisted the top to open but can’t get the knife out
Thank you
The hinge on the knife may be very tight from the factory, but will loosen from use. The slot in the lock collar needs to be aligned with the blade, and then the blade can be opened. There is also a finger nail notch on the side of the blade as well to help grasp and unfold the blade.
